Animation
Nora is a self taught animator, both in 2D and 3D, learning on software such as Blender, the Adobe suite and Procreate. The following videos on this page are two examples taken from larger projects that are still in production. As well as animation, Nora has also done a number of motion graphics based projects, primarily for the title sequences of some independent films she has worked on. An animation reel to showcase all of these is in development.
Inspired by the events of COVID-19, 'Broken Planet' is a sci-fi mocumentary that presents quarantine from the perspective of an Alien colony living with the semi destruction of their planet after an asteroid crash. Real interviews were used, from residents of the UK, USA, Pakistan, Austria and more.
The teaser trailer was edited by myself on Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects, using footage of a 3D animation which will be used as the film's opening title sequence. The rest of the mocumentary will be 2D animated, with the help of three animators (including myself), and will be done using the Adobe Creative Suite. This is all currently in production.
There is currently a live Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for the project. These funds will be put towards paying the animators as well as entering the final film in film festivals, competitions and for distribution. There is also a Facebook page as well as an Instagram page for promoting the project and posting progress updates.
This very short animated comic will be used with a narration for the short film Sobriety, a film by Craig Thorpe. (more information here)
Made using Procreate on an iPad Pro, this animation will serve as a summary of the plot and potentially as a sequence to be used in the film itself. I have animated each part to match up with the narration provided by the film's producer, Melissa Sorelli. This is only a short segment of what will be approximately a minute long final animation.
